Greetings! Thank you for coming to Exegetical Reflections. I hope some of the content will be helpful to you.
I amĀ a professor at a young (4-year old) seminary in Cary, NC, called Shepherds Theological Seminary. We are a church-based seminary on the campus of Colonial Baptist Church.
Randy,
Would you comment on Proverbs 22:6. I’ve heard many use this verse as a promise to Christian parents that if they train up a child in the way they “should” go, that when they are older they won’t depart from the faith.
I’ve also heard others say that this is a warning to parents that if they leave their children to their own sinful propensity, when they are older they will, indeed, never depart from it.
How should this verse be interpreted? Is this a promise regarding Christian parenting or is this a warning for parents to intervene in their child’s wayward lifestyle?
Mike
Mike,
In lieu of a reply here, I think I will work up a post on the subject. Great question…
Randy
Sounds great. I would enjoy reading it.
Blessings,
Mike
